Occupational risk prevention

Within the political framework of occupational risk prevention at the UAB, the health and safety of the entire university community are key priorities. This is why the University created the Prevention and Environment Service, using the necessary resources to implement risk prevention policies and working to comply with Law 1995/31 on Occupational Risk Prevention and any other related regulations.

When the new law came into force on 15 July 1996, the Health and Safety Committee, was set up. This joint, collegiate body debates preventive action at he UAB.

The UAB's main objectives in occupational risk prevention are: to integrate risk prevention in all the University's activities; to guarantee completely risk-free workplaces; and to guarantee that all employees receive adequate information, training and supervision to ensure maximum safety for staff, students and visitors.

The UAB is committed to improving work conditions, thus promoting the welfare of those serving the organisation, and is responsible for implementing the general principles laid down in the statutes. These principles include solidarity, justice, democracy, equality, non-discrimination, respect for human rights and the environment, the right to information and participation. To achieve these aims, the UAB has created the Commission for Intervention and Resolution in Cases of Workplace Mobbing and shows clearly its firm stance against any type of workplace mobbing as soon as it becomes apparent, guaranteeing all staff the right to be treated decently.
