Enrolment aid for master's degrees for non-EU students


The UAB offers 30 enrolment aid grants for foreign students who are not EU residents and who intend to begin an official master's degrees in 2010/11.

If you wish to appeal against this final resolution you may do so by directly addressing the Rector of the UAB within a period of one month after the date on which this notice was published, in accordance with Article 115 of Law 30/1992, of 26 November, in the Public Administrations and Common Administration Procedures Law (Règim Jurídic de les Administracions Públiques i del Procediment Administratiu Comú), modified by Law 4/1999, of 13 January.

Description of the aid
1. This aid covers only the additional cost of enrolment for 2010/11 official master's degrees which must be paid by foreign students who are not residents of the EU.

2. For enrolment in interuniversity master's degrees the aid will only be available for programmes coordinated by the UAB, and therefore, when registration takes place at the UAB.

3. This call only includes university master's degrees which are subject to specific price regulations and offered by UAB centres.

Eligibility for application
In order to apply for a grant, students must meet the following requirements:
- Be a foreign student not residing in the countries considered to be members of the European Union. The countries that are considered to be members of the European Union, whose residents are not eligible to apply for these aids are:
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands and United Kingdom.
- Have been accepted on an official master's degree programme in the first round of pre-enrolments open until 18 June 2010 (those on the waiting list cannot apply).
- Have an excellent academic record situated among the best applications for admission.
- Enrolled in a minimum of 60 credits, except in cases where the total number of credits in the annual plan for the master's degree is less than 60 credits. If the total number of credits is less than 60, applicants must attach file showing all credits offered by the master's degree during the 2010/11 academic year.
- Enrol before 13 October 2010.

Applications
- The call for applications opens on 20 July 2010 and ends on 15 August 2010.

The results of the applications will be announced as follows:
- Provisional list will be published during the first two weeks of September.
- Once the provisional list is published, there is a period of 10 days for appeals.
- The final results will be published on 30 September 2010.

Revision of the allocation of grants
Once the final registration date has passed, a review will be made of the enrolment of each of the students who have been allocated the aid. If any of the requirements have not been met, the aid will be withdrawn and allocated to the next person on the waiting list.

Incompatibility
These enrolment aids are not compatible with any other kind of grant or financial support received by the student covering the entire cost of enrolment credits.
