What are the official master's degrees?
The UAB offers a vast array of official master's degrees at subsidised fees and fully adapted to the new European Higher Education Area. The UAB provides advanced training, giving you the opportunity for academic or professional specialisation or to begin your research.
Official master's degrees consist of either 60 or 120 credits according to indications by the Spanish Ministry of Education. Therefore the duration of each degree does not depend on the academic training of each person.
Depending on your prior training, the coordinator of the master's degree may advise you to take additional training courses (up to a maximum of 60 credits).
If you wish to continue on to a doctoral programme please bear in mind that you will need to have a total of 300 credits. Therefore, if you hold a degree consisting of less than 240 ECTS credits (three-year degrees, architectural degrees, etc.) and are interested in obtaining 300 ECTS credits you have the option of:
a) enrolling in additional training courses recommended by the course coordinator.
b) enrolling in a master's degree consisting of 120 ECTS credit or two master's degree worth 60 ECTS credits each.
